Roundtable: What a working audit requires

A working session rather than a panel. Participants read the draft provisions in advance and spend the afternoon attempting to break them.

Format

Held under a convention of openness: what is said is on the record, who said it is not, so that participants can think aloud without committing their institutions. Three short framing contributions, then structured discussion in two groups.

Who should attend

Supervisory and regulatory staff, engineers responsible for deployed decision systems, caseworkers who exercise override, and researchers working on audit methods. Places are limited by the format rather than the room.

Preparation

The draft provisions and a two-page briefing are circulated a fortnight in advance. Attending without reading them is not useful to anyone.
