Founding convening
The session at which our vision document was discussed, criticised and substantially revised before publication.
Our founding convening was a working session on the draft vision document rather than a launch event. The draft was circulated in advance and the day was spent attacking it.
What changed
Three substantive revisions came out of the day: the section on method was rewritten after participants objected that “we convene rather than pronounce” was not visible in the original draft; the treatment of future generations was reframed from a statement of concern into a design criterion; and a claim about institutional failure being deliberate was removed as unsupported.
The published vision document records that these changes were made.
